Religions and spiritual traditions; It is known that they have important roles in coping with the difficulties of life, making sense of life, feeling belonging to a social group, creating an identity and choosing a healthy life for people who belong to them. On the other hand, helping and caring for people living in difficult conditions is a universal human instinct. Helping gratuitously on a voluntary basis is seen as a virtue in almost all life philosophies and religious-spiritual traditions.
In Turkey, studies in the field of spiritual care and counseling, which bring together humanitarian service and religion-spiritualism, have gained momentum in the last 10 years. After explaining the effect of spirituality on human mental and physical health in detail in the book, the spiritual care needs of the patients were compared with the non-sick groups in the study, and the perception levels of the religious officials who still practice spiritual care, their competencies, personality dimensions and field experiences that are effective in their competencies are discussed in depth.
