In this book, which tries to look at the concepts of work and employment from a sociological perspective, the views of various sociologists on these concepts and how the concepts are shaped according to the lifestyles, values and judgments of societies are tried to be conveyed to the reader.

İsmail Kitapcı It is difficult to understand people and society… It is even more difficult to understand the relationships between people, society and economy… Because…
• On the one hand, the irresistible attraction of the relations established with strong ties, on the other hand, the visionaryness of the relations based on innovation with weak ties…
• On the one hand, those who do not change the old for anything, those who are crushed under 'creative destruction', on the other hand, those who replace the old with the new, those who see technology as superior to humans, and those who have a heart like a machine...
• On the one hand, those who do not want to be put in the 'iron cage' of capitalism, on the other hand, the petrified hearts who think that unlimited power is power…
• On the one hand, those who act with the understanding of 'a bite and a cardigan', on the other hand, the pretentious people who use this understanding as an excuse and prevent themselves from working and turn idleness into a philosophy of life...
• On the one hand, those who take their bread out of stone, on the other hand, those who consume themselves as they consume, those who cannot have anything because they have everything...
• On the one hand, those who create capital for themselves from mutual trust and culture, on the other hand, those who acquire wealth, property and money for themselves.
• On the one hand, potlatch culture wins as it loses, on the other hand, selfish and self-seeking people who seek ways to gain more as capitalism gains.
• Those who are stuck in understatement on the one hand, and those who do not give up on excess on the other...
• Longing for local culture on the one hand, admiration for the global on the other...
• On the one hand, those who have the morality of submissiveness, and on the other hand, those who do not give up the morality of rebellion…
• On the one hand, “Our society rots without our virtues.” said Socrates, on the other hand, “Our society cannot develop without our vices.” said Mandeville…
• Those who are lost in cultural depths on the one hand, and those who lose their culture to civilization on the other.
• On the one hand, those who live with the American dream, on the other hand, those whose worlds turn into a nightmare...
• On the one hand, the 'knowledgeable' person of Neo-Classical economics, on the other hand, the person who cannot get rid of their cognitive biases…
• On the one hand, those who always sing the same refrain, on the other hand, entrepreneurs pushing the limits of innovation...
• Those who act as if they will never die on one side and will die tomorrow on the other…

Halit Keskin, Ali Ekber Akgün, İpek Koçoğlu The book Organization Theory has been written to introduce the discipline of organization theory to the reader, to convey different perspectives, topics and theories in this field, and to create an infrastructure that can evaluate them. In the book, from the 19th century, when modernism, which emerged with the positivist approach in social sciences, shed light on the theory of organization, how the theory of organization developed until the 21st century, when the postmodernist approach was dominant in organization theory, which approaches were dominated by the theory of organization at different times, between approaches. It is aimed to systematically convey to the reader how conflicts are reflected in organizational theory and what difficulties they create in understanding organizations. While explaining how the theory of organization emerged and developed from a historical perspective, the book also aims to illuminate how social change overlaps with developments in other fields of science and its philosophical development as well as chronologically.
For effective learning of organizational theory, the diversity and complex nature of the field must first be acknowledged. Rather than trying to reduce the theory of organization to a single point of view, it is necessary to examine and enrich it within the framework of different perspectives of many paradigms. In this book, the complexity of organizational theory and its relevance to management practices as well as to social life are revealed by critical and distinctive assessments of different approaches, beyond the coherent and complementary explanations brought by the isomorphic approaches in many books to this field. It is aimed to break stereotypes in organizational theory, to prevent analysis based on a single paradigm, to prepare a suitable ground for reflexive thinking that is open to discussion and criticism, and to encourage a supra-paradigmatic understanding. Ultimately, the reader is expected to be able to understand the organization from different perspectives, think critically, move organizational theory beyond existing thought patterns, and develop enriching theoretical dialogues.
Azize Ergeneli Organizational behavior is to understand the behavior of people working in the organization, both as individuals and as group members, so that organizations can be managed effectively. Understanding behaviors and their causes is important because it allows managers to predict the future behavior of individuals, to direct and control them in line with the goals of the organization. This book has been prepared with the development of the book called Organization and Human, which was written to provide both theoretical information and guidance on what can be done in practice for people who are candidates for management, but is completely exhausted.
For this purpose, the book consists of two parts: Organization and individual. In the part of the organization, the definition of the organization is given and the studies that require the definition of the organization as a socio-technical system are included, the interaction between the organization, the environment, technology and the organizational structure and its relations with the working individuals are mentioned.
In the individual part, first of all, the individual differences that make a person special as someone working in the organization are discussed. It has been tried to explain the formation of the personality traits of the individual and the factors affecting it, the learning process that has an important effect on his personality, the effect of what he has learned on his attitudes and how they shape his perception, and finally what causes his behavior.
Individuals may behave differently as a group member than when they are alone. Since the employees in organizations have to be in at least one work group, the behavior of the individual in the group has been tried to be explained, so that the people who will be managers are given theoretical and practical information about how they should manage individuals as a group member. In this section, it has been tried to convey information to the manager candidates about establishing a healthy communication, motivating the employees correctly, leading them effectively, explaining the reasons for the conflicts and stress they experience and how they can cope with it.
Nihat Erdoğmuş Career in terms of persons; It is a phenomenon that needs to be re-interpreted by taking into account the values, interests, personality and competencies, the time and future years. It is necessary to consider the concept of career as a lifelong process rather than a phenomenon that is chosen once in a certain time period. This process consists of different phases, in which there are different motives that direct the person in each phase, and it has a characteristic that changes over time. Career includes external and internal elements that must be taken in interaction and in a balanced way. The economic and social return of the career shows the external (objective) aspect, while the satisfaction and inner peace in the career indicates the internal (subjective) aspect. Although the weight of these elements varies to a certain extent according to the individuals, the balanced execution of these two will bring both the continuation of personal productivity and personal satisfaction. Career is a phenomenon that needs to be positioned correctly and balanced in terms of other roles and responsibilities for people in life. It is observed that career people develop more healthily in an environment where they take more responsibility and make choices accordingly, and where social structures and theories are supportive and facilitating.

Emete Gözügüzelli Whoever dominates the sea, dominates the world”.
Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha (1478-1546)

Human history is unthinkable without seas and oceans. The oceans or seas are at the heart of strategies for world domination. Moreover, they are areas that affect the destinies of states.
The law of the sea, which is important for the grand strategies of states, has come to a position that makes its importance felt in the world today with its increasing importance as a part of international public law over the last 20 years. The increasing importance of the law of the sea is mostly due to the fact that tensions arise after the overlapping demands of the coastal states, which sometimes reach the brink of war.
Turkey's right to determine its own maritime jurisdiction areas and to claim its sovereign rights in the Mediterranean, the Sea of Islands or the Black Sea, as elsewhere in the world, derives entirely from the customary law formed by the law of the sea. The problems in the Mediterranean are also seen more clearly with the attitudes of countries such as Greece, which ignore the principles of maritime law.
This work has been written to contribute to the studies carried out in order to advance the struggle in Turkish maritime jurisdictions on a scientific basis. The public law dimension of Turkish maritime jurisdictions is critical and of primary importance in foreign policy.
With the hope that everyone who is interested will read this work, which is the beginning of the steps to be taken regarding the establishment of the legal and technical regime, with excitement and curiosity...
